Chrome and Lars Bek’s V8

I’ve read the other day an article in FT Weekend edition, about Lars Bek, a Danish programmer (who has worked in Sillicon Valley as well). His most recent computer software program is the V8 — part of the Chrome web browser. Lars is the one who built this vital component for Chrome (the JavaScript engine). The browser would increae the possibilities for others to do what Lars itself is engaged in: working from home, attached to the head office and all its tools only by the power of the internet.

It is a breakthrough. Not in itself, as the idea has been around already for years, but in the actual technology making it possible.
