S – Simple: don’t make it too wordy of complex
M – Meaningful to you: something you really want
A – As if now – write your goal in present tense
R – Realistic – use your judgement to determine how ambitious you want to be
T – Towards what you want: use language that will ensure that you are going towards what you want, not what you don’t want
